How Do You Maintain a Vinyl Liner Pool?

1) Brush it gently. Give it some attention with a soft-bristle brush or sponge periodically, to keep dirt, debris, and undissolved chemicals from accumulating on the liner. You might start with once per week, though how often depends on how much foreign material ends up in your pool.
2) Ensure proper water chemistry. It can have a negative effect on your liner if your pool water is not in balance. There are a whole host of issues that can arise from calcium scaling to wrinkling and puckering to accelerated aging. Easy once you learn how, maintaining proper water chemistry.
3) Avoid chemical contact with the liner. Especially chlorine crystals, from coming to rest on the liner, be sure you do so in a way that prevents them as you add chemicals to keep your water in balance. That interaction can cause bleaching and deterioration. Before putting it into the pool, be sure to completely dissolve your chlorine or shock in a bucket.
4) Your vinyl liner pool should never be emptied. If you completely empty the pool, your liner can shrink and crack. Be sure you don’t remove more than half of the total volume if you need to drain some of the water for any reason.
5) Manage the waterline. At the waterline, dirt and oils can build up and cause staining. In order to keep the area at and above the waterline clean, use a vinyl liner cleaning solution. This kind of product will also help protect the liner from the sun’s damaging rays.
