Lifeguard Certification & Recertification Training

Metropolitan Pools has certified Lifeguard Instructors with the capability to teach the nationally recognized lifeguard training programs from the American Red Cross. Lifeguards are taught CPR, First Aid, and Water Rescues. In class, students learn the responsibilities of lifeguarding and are tested on their ability to respond in emergency situations. We offer new lifeguard certification training as well as recertification training classes.

Metropolitan Pools trains new and currently certified lifeguards through the American Red Cross Blended Learning Course. This curriculum requires the completion of an 8 hour online course prior to the first day of in-person training. We suggest signing up for and accessing the online portion of your class two weeks before in person training begins so that you have ample time to complete the online course.

Metropolitan Pools reserves the right to deny entry into a class:
1) If the class has been applied for with less than two weeks remaining before in person training begins.
2) The online portion of the class has not been completed prior to the first in-person class.
3) If there are less than 4 participants signed up with less than 7 days remaining before in person training, the class may be canceled.
